Advanced classes (First Certificate - CAE)
Tuesdays and Thursdays : 18h-19h30
Kids classes
4-6 years old : Fridays 17h-18h (one advanced class and one beginner class)
7-8 years old : Thursdays 17h-18h (one advanced class and one beginner class)
9-10 years old : Mondays 17h-18h
10-12 years old : Tuesdays 17h-18h

Hi! My name is Phillip Jacklin. I am one of the teachers and the director at The Language Center. I was born and raised in California. I have a degree from USC, the University of Southern California. I am a French and an American citizen. I have lived and taught languages in the Geneva area for 15 years. Helping people like you improve their English and French is my passion and profession.
Would you like to speak fluent English? Would your friends, family, and/or colleagues like to learn English? Well then we have the perfect classes for you.
In our English classes we use the best grammar, vocabulary and communication books on the market, to help you learn as quickly as possible. If you have already studied English then we will first begin with an evaluation exam. We will also analyze your objectives. Then according to those exam results we will fit you into a program that will help you reach your goals.
Whether you take individual or group classes or a combination of both, you will always be monitored so that you are doing the most amount of in class and homework possible and still enjoying yourself. Do not expect to be frustrated or burn-out by classes here. Expect to have fun and make as much progress as you can. English, or any language, is not learned or perfected overnight. It takes passion and determination to master the language. If you have both, then enroll and work hard at the Language Center and you will get the job done !
In your English classes, you will be asked to speak English only. In addition to the great book work you will do, we will ask you to do a lot of conversational work.
In the beginner classes we work on the basics you will learn to present yourselves and communicate with others simply and clearly. You will work with the best methods available to learn the basics of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and conversation.
In the intermediate and advanced classes conversation work is often based on contemporary English media such as newspapers, internet sites, television and radio. Current events be them political or sports are often covered in detail. You will use the best methods to help you perfect your vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, listening, reading, and conversation. You will also cover important cultural linguistic subjects such as the subtle vocabulary and pronunciation differences between English and American English.
You will have the opportunity to learn the English language and also about English speaking cultures. Here in Ferney-Voltaire in 2008, 500 meters from the Geneva, Swiss border, English is a necessity in our international community.
